The initial drive-in museum non-stop in Camden, New Jersey, in 1933. For reduction than a dollar, a whole family could suffer a B Hollywood film from a comfort of their possess car.

At the tallness of their recognition in a 1950s, there were roughly 5,000 drive-ins opposite a US. Today there are only over 300 of them, that has left a lot of drive-in graveyards around a country.

For photographer Lindsey Rickert, drive-in theaters were a tack of childhood.

“There was something so special about a knowledge [of a drive-in],” she recently told Business Insider. In 2014, she ventured opposite a nation for 65 days to request as many drive-in theaters — possibly in operative sequence or deserted — that she could find.
